Join us to learn an easy and inexpensive way to restore creek banks. Live stakes are dormant, live cuttings from woody shrubs or trees that are driven directly into the streambank (no digging required!) to root, grow, and stabilize banks. Creeks need trees and shrubs along their banks to hold the soil and to provide habitat for birds and other critters. Live staking is something that landowners can do easily on their own property. The base section will root and the upper section will leaf out to become a tree or shrub.
You may get muddy, so please wear boots or even waders. We provide the cuttings, gloves and tools. Please bring your own water bottle.
